Havent seen any in his stock, but will try and ask him. Thanks :)

Tried my hand at some rust effects yesterday. I must say it have become very easy to make weathering effects these days, with all kind of new effect paints and such. I didnt even try that hard and it more or less automaticly looked good!

Oh Colonel dear Colonel, Our hero the celebrated "ARNIE" in an earlier entry wrote about his inability to tighten the tracks, and if you go to the website I suggested, you will see that the tensioners on sale are quite different from the one's that yes even I managed to see are presently fitted, indeed I remarked at the fact that the one's on his Tank were pretty useless and needed great care when tightening as they are very fragile.
I pray this isn't the onset of the inevitable mental decline associated with aging senior officers? :haha:
A circumstance that I have always maintained slowed my rightful promotion in day's gone by. WO1 shaun

AH...i see your logic....thing is the tensioners for the Panzer IV aren't very good anyway...the amount of adjustment isn't all that much...less than a sixteenth of an inch forward or back...playing with the tracks is a much better alternative....it's what I basically had to do on my L70...because there just isn't enough of a difference otherwise ...playing with one link is more of an adjustment that any tensioner will give :D
And it well could be WO1c the onset of the inevitable mental decline associated with aging senior officers....because age is relative....everyone gets old at the same rate :shifty: ................. :haha:

Jarndice, I have tried several times, to both remove and add a link and adjusting the track tensioner, but I might have to end up rethinking the hole idler/track tensioner setup, since its just very badly made. It works okay for now, when driving on an even surface, but as soon as I take it outside, the tracks will start ridiing on top of the idler and sprocket wheels.
And yes I have an abteilung in mind. Since I'm from Denmark, I have kinda set my heart on Panzer Division Wiking. Just because it was mostly comprised of Scandinavians :)
As you see my Colonel Arnie is thinking along the same lines with not very positive results, It is why I was searching for an alternative to the cheap and nasty fitting he presently has fitted. shaun

AH...But you see WO1c....Arnie is not privie to the ways of "Shaun Shopping" :haha:
If he were to click on the link you provided...he would get a view of a listing ...amongst many other items...a tensioner for a Tiger 1 :wtf:
Now if you really wished Arnie to see what you are talking about....you would have posted this
http://www.tank-modellbau.de/eng_244/Pa ... _tensioner
Thing is...that's the same one I have...that doesn't do much because the arc is too small...the Idler barely moves from the original point :haha:
the real alternative is to use the mounting hardware from that...and get a piece of billet and make a longer one..to replace the short arm provided in that kit...it may not look prototypical...but...the difference would be notable :D

Now with that said ...Arnie has already test run the Panzer....ran great said he...but has no "Suspension" to speak of ...so WO1c...any ideas where he might acquire some in your part of the world :D

PS. Remember the desk magnifier lamp....now how many times / searches did I have to make before I found the one you were speaking of :haha:

In this Country their is a saying " Nobody likes a smartarse" the free interpretation of that is Dammit sirrah your far to clever for MY good!!! :lolno:
But as to finding a HENG LONG Suspension replacement I can only come up with the same results as you and Arnie,
I tried the importer's without success and I do wonder if the HENG LONG suspension would work as well on Arnies PZ4 as it does on your's and mine given that he has a metal hull,
The search continues -----? :problem:

I would think it would....the Asiatams that Arnie found are basically the same springs that are on the Taigen already...and I've never been able to locate Tamiya springs for the Panzer IV....the suspension arms yes....but the springs no...as you say WO1c...the search continues
