Re: FUTURE SHOCK..SAUNDERS M1A2 ABRAMS
That's a good pic . It shows the rear of a M2v1 without the rear mud scrapers. its also shows the wire junction box cover next to the right taillight but no phone box and the APU exhaust vent. I told you I would post a pic of the what is correctly referred to as UAAPU so here it is. Its what's inside the left sponsoon and why that exhaust is there and an intake on the side (not visible in this pic).

All of you currently bringing an Abrams build to completion are doing top drawer work! Each machine has some fantastic detail to recommend it, ;o)

I only saw my first actual Leo and M1 in the flesh this weekend, and they are very imposing machines in this scale. Just goes to show how the new breed of MBT has a lot to be re-educated onto us that are fixed in black & white documentary footage of those we know the best.![]()

These three jokers need a hell of an applause.
I will wait until there are many more aftermarket parts available for these things before I jump in.

That Lee is really a neat build. Made me think of the movie with Humphry Bogart that featured the tank in a movie about the north African campaign. Yes the handle on the little box is indeed needed its what you would turn to unscrew the box cover. You could just put a small round piece sticking out slightly from the boxes center and say the handle came off?
Have you decided on solid green or will you use the nato pattern. Looks good as is. Kind of retro, like the original Abrams which were just green.
I looked up what the boxes on the right side of the V2 bustle rack are and from what I gathered they are a system that identifies electronic transmissions of anything from cell phones use to detonate IEDs to those in high tech mortar or rockets/missiles and prevents them from detonating their warheads or using their guidance systems when close to the tank ( the distance it works out to seems to be classified) by scrambling any electronic signal sent to or inside the explosive device.

SAHARA...yeah that was a great movie...still one of my favorites ...Jim Belushi's brother James did a remake...think they made a Grant instead of a Lee...greengiant wrote:That Lee is really a neat build. That guy builds some nice models...he did the Porsche Tiger too...it was his first GUP build...the Lee is a new video..he did a great job on it
That's Cool Giant...wondered what that was....looked like part of the AVU ...so that stack is a sensor ...Terrific info...always learning new things about this M1..
