Wide or Narrow Tracks for Late Tiger !

Post by Gigantohawk »

Evening Gents,
Just a quick question really. Did the late type steel roadwheel Tiger 1 use the wide cross country track or the narrow transport track during combat ?.

Hi Gigantohawk
They used the wide track same as the early and mid rubber roadwheeled Tigers

Thanks Ian,
That clears things up as I prefer the look of the late wheeled Tiger. But was unsure whether it used narrow tracks without the track guards.
Just thinking about one of the special edition tanks from TankZone and wanted to make sure that they were scale.
I  know TankZone charges more for it's products. But these dont seem that bad when you look at the spec's. 3:1 gearboxes, metal roadwheels etc. What do you think ?.
I was also wondering if they would do a special i.e a late Tiger with no Zimmerit.

Thanks again,

Gigantohawk.

All Tigers had the wide tracks for battle the narrow tracks where only used for rail transport so the Tigers would fit through tunnels and the like, all late Tiger I had zimmerit, the Tigers offered by Tank zone have most of the late feature but are lacking some detail like the correct turret roof thickness and the correct loaders hatch only a small number had the 25mm turret roof most had the 40mm in either the single piece or the two piece turret roof all late command Tigers had the 25mm turret roof
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

When i brought my late Tiger 1 from tank zone i got the £229 one, but before i brought it i asked for a full list of parts fitted, i also asked if i could replace the battery as i did not need one, Kin agreed to this and said i could add another £20 worth of accessories instead so i added the gun barrel extender, metal mudflaps and metal loaders hatch wheel and when you add up how much all the parts come to you basically get the Tank for free ;D

Here is the list

- Metal Heavy Duty 3:1 Reduced Ratio Gearboxes

- Proportional Smoke Unit

- Metal Sprockets with Late Caps

- Metal Idlers

- Metal Roadwheels

- High Grade Closed Pin Metal Tracks Late with Ice Cleats

- Metal Suspension Arms

- Metal Reinforcing Bar (inside chassis) for Suspension

- Metal Tow Shackles

- Opening Front Metal Hatches

- Metal Spare Tracks & Holders installed on Turret

- Metal Late Cupola with opening Hatch installed on Turret

- Metal Late Vent, Periscope and Close Defence Weapon installed on Turret Roof

- Photo-Etched Engine Grill installed on Engine Deck

- Working Metal Hull Machinegun with LED

- Metal Working Single Late Front Headlight

- Corrected Mantlet

And the postage is FREE  ;D 8)

Hi Gigantohawk, YES they are fitted with metal suspension arms, did i also mention the zimmerit set is already fitted and you get a pretty good paint job on the tank, i have added a bit more weathering to mine but its pretty much how it came 8)
