Sherman in the Mud

Figured out my sewing machine to be able to make sandbags, got a true whip antenna made, and got the turret bustle made, with all the rain we just had and resulting mud I figured I needed some legit pics!

RMD,
Your photos are brilliant and the Sherman is really coming along! I love the wooden applique armor. ;o) You probably know already yet another way to tie that whip antenna back. Put your knot midway down the antenna and it will bend straight back. Looks great and leaves room for a pennant should you choose.

Thanks guys! Will have to try the antenna that way! I am not sure what pennant Jungle Jim would have used, anyone have any ideas?

Got to give it up......................looks marvelous Mr RMD, the seting really adds to an already good subject tank.
And I'm no Sherma-holic

Question ; how did it pull up after the semi-submerged picture session ?
My guess is you need to get into submarines like Mr Hugill

Hi Great photos ,I do this to all my tanks ,easy way to weather tracks and lower hull ,drive though the mud a couple of fast runs to splash the upper hull let it dry job done.

Very impressive. The b&w tends to (I think) look better as you don't need to worry about the grass being too green.

Looks good expecially the black and white, would like to see some stills of the tank moving in the water.
A heaver spring ( at least as heavy as the old HL antenna ) on the antenna turret end and drill the bustle rear 50 cal storage pintle mount all the way through and bend a small L shape on the antenna end then put the antenna end into the pintle mount hole and you will get a more rounded antenna that stays more over the turret.
If you have the 2.4 electronics your not using the antenna to receive a signal so it doesn't need to be so long that it needs to be tied down. The real antennas were only at the most about 6 ft long.
