KV-1 metal upgrades

Have only repositioned the slots they go into. Havent tried tweaking the bars themself yet.

Taigen's spring steel on their torsion bars is actually pretty good stuff ...Tweaking those won't really help....the steel is so good..it goes back to it's natural state

Have tried and fix the suspension and it seems to work better now. Just a little more tweaking and it should be good.

I found out that I could disassemble the suspension "slots" and turn them 90 degrees, to get a better angle on the arms.
The left one is turned 90 degree, middle is standard and right is just to show how it looks disassembeled


Looks more even now. Maybe still a bit high though. Thoughts??







please ignore the scewed upper hull. The bettery connection is pushing up on the smoke unit. It will be fixed, when I extend the connection wire.

Good Job! The (newer than mine) Taigen suspension on your tank allowed you to correct it without adding parts or material. Your tank sits a tiny bit high. You can tell by the lack of track slack. Adjust that using the working idler adjuster at the front and the weight of the tank will allow the suspension to flex and settle over time. It's looks great! My only additional advice would be to display your heavy tanks with a wooden block beneath them to help the suspension arms maintain tension over time.

LOL...You beat me to it Painless ...the right side when looking at it from the front doesn't have enough slack...Taigen has good tensioners at the front Arnie...dial that back...or down the road it will cause some gearbox troubles

In addition to the mentioned mod, I also filed down the arms abit, as they where going really tight in their sockets, making it hard for the susupension to work properly.

Next up, I have a Asiatam recoil I originally bought for my WSN Tiger, but I kinda abandoned that project for now and would rather use the recoil in my KV. Have anyone installed one of theese in a KV before?

Thanks Painless, but I already have it in my PzIV myself. So much easier, when the mount that comes with the unit, is actually designed for the turret you want it in hehe
I was more looking for, if anyone had any tips on what to mod inside the KV turret, to have it in the correct hight and such

But I might just wing it
