Post by gdsm984 »

My 2 Panther G's
Building 2 Panther G's from RC.Tank.de metal chassis.and metal road wheels, drive wheel and late idler.
All wrapped in late metal track.first Panther has Taigen 4:1 Black metal cogs.Chassis is painted red oxide with base coat of Dark Yellow.
Upper hull is still HL cammo. Electric's are are all 2.4Ghz T5 taigen.

Second Panther G is based around the Jadg Panther RC.Tank.de metal chassis.and metal road wheels, drive wheel and late idler.
All wrapped in late metal track.Drive is Taigens latest mk111 ,5:1 gearbox I've also swapped out rear axle for Henn Tecc one.
Electrics are again all Taigens T5,both have 3300 7.2 batteries.Again upper is standard H/L cammo,with BB gun's

Next wil be respray job and detailing.then trying out various circuit boards.Any feed back will be most appreciated,
Paint jobs will be late 44 eastern front,No SS unit as they getting too common,

Sounds great! What difference do you notice between the 4 and 5:1 gears?

Hi, For me a great option was the Benedini TBS mine/DBC that just plugs right into the standard RX 18
you get great sounds, no track recoil, programmable sounds and you can pop it out and plug it into
another tank etc. If you are interested all the information is at Battle Armor: http://battlearmorrc.weebly.com/

Hi Tao thanks.so far I have found the 5:1 gearbox to be superb, much more controlled, just watch for quick acceleration.

I will look up Benedini TBS.

I recall asking Dominique from rctanksde about the 4:1 and 5:1 he recommended the 4:1 for the panther
I have a Torro KT not sure what is in there ratio wise anyway short question is what do you notice different?
Maybe going from 4:1 to 5:1 isn't noticeable as a larger move? For the larger tanks I like slow with power etc.
Thanks Tom

I did something similar. Married a rctankde panther lower chassis to a Taigen upper hull. I used Taigen metal tracks, metal drive wheels, idlers and the Taigen 4 shaft transmissions with bearings throughout. Electronics are Clark Tk22 with Turnigy 9x radio. I had to reduce the track lengths to 85 links in order to get the idler adjustments to work correctly and to keep the tracks from rubbing on the rear hull panniers above the idlers. The tank is a beast and has plenty of torque.

The 5;1 gearbox is wonderfully precise and works fine with Taigen's T5 transmitter.
But compared to Taigens previous 4;1 Black Steel gearbox there's very little in it.
If you are building from scratch I'd go with new 5;11 gearbox.

Being ill with my cancer so not being on site in a while.Have being researching eastern front cammo schemes from 44,45 period.I may do one with night vision scope,as I acquired a third Panther G with HL chassis metal HL track and drive sprocket, also HL 2.4ghz control system it has HL's metal gearbox which may end up surplus to requirement's
