ME??? in the early years of EBAY maybe....it's a good way to pay more than you want..learned that the expensive way...Now I just watch...take it if I want it...leave it if it gets ridiculous or looks suspicious....That Tank was definitely worth the price it earned...but in my eyes..it could have been a way better Final price if there wasn't the bidding war ;)

Bidding wars are what happens when you have a great product.
True....but a real bidding war goes to the end....I have to admit..I've been out sniped more than once lol....it's hard to explain shilling..but people do it...you will find that in most cases where the bidding starts very low...I learned to recognize it....sometimes participate in the "push" myself :haha: because I know I won't get it at that point...Honestly though ED....the guys who are really in the know...wait... ;)

Surely a bidding war by definition goes until some one bids high than anyone else is willing to pay. Mostly it happens at the end of the auction but can happen at any time. Whilst snipping is an effective tactic, pushing the price up earlier on can prevent the crazy feeding frenzy at the end which can end with the item going really high.

Regarding shilling, the only people that can shill bid are the seller (with an alternate account or a friends). People who run up the bid with no connection to the seller aren't shilling by definition. Which leads me to question how you think two bidders are shilling Alpha, a seller only needs one shill bidder to run it up, two is pointless when there are loads of bidders.

I don't even bid on stuff until the last 10-15 seconds.

Yup I'm sure ...like I said ...it's pretty hard to understand and explain...sometimes you just have to learn by doing and seeing ;) Experience is the Key in these situations...My advice...learn to be a good sniper...you will find you get better deals...and a better percentage of wins :D
