El-mod Idiot

Post by mickyb »

Yaaaahoooooooooooo....El-ruddy mod to go!!!

lotsa NOISE....bloody expensive noise but worth every penny.....

Sorry about the previous question......sorted......

the last piece of kit that I thought would be faulty and it was the spare transmitter duff.

So I have it going........I guess if you have never tried this before you wouldn't know what I have been through....every time I connected something up I was thinking " get this wrong old boy and it's gonna cost you a new card". My congratulations to everyone who has been through this before me....

I attach a foto of the dining table and it's mess. Tiger hull back left...turret middle right...The PZ4 donor turret can now go back on its hull.

Next step force the electronics into the Tiger hull and drum up courage to wire in the CD turret to the connector.

Has anyone tried to fit a CD turret....I want to use the RX18 but even the Blitz has no idea if it will work. CD recon it won't.

Does the RX18 work an Airsoft cannon or not? I have only seen them in IR tanks but read that some of you have had them supplied in new HL tanks.

I may try the RX18 in it next week.....but for now I gotta find a RX14 supplier.

Seeyah..............Mike (happy smile or wot!)

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt (but not with HL radio).
So I know exactly how you feel Mike. The adrenaline rush is almost worth all the money alone! Almost...

i agree with chris, mike, been there done it etc, why not go the whole hog and get a new tx and rx ?, if you like what you have now, going all the way with tx and rx is way better than piggy backing with hl electronics, the elmod like chris said is well worth the money, it makes you want to jump in and drive it youre self ;) ;D

You run out of 27MHz channels at a club meeting? ;D

A 6 channel radio will work with el-mod - ie Hitec Laser 6 for 40MHz use, or Spektrum DX6i or Futaba 6EX for 2.4GHz operation

hi guys
YHR i thought it was obvious whats wrong with the hl tx and rx, like mart said you run out of channels at a big meet, plus the hl radio can and does give problems, ie hard to impossible to trim, jerky driveing because of faulty sticks and not the best build quality, and the tank "sticking" which means you have to turn the tank on and off to use it again. though i must say this not the case with all the radios, there cant be many people who have not had any problems with the hl radio's at some point. mike, i am using the futaba 6ex 2.4ghz with my elmod & Tiger, in my opinion this is a really good radio, and i like the benefit of no crystals, but like mart said hitec, spektrum, radios are also a good choice
