Hi Guys.....
Well...I have at last started the electronics and................
I bought 2 sets of el-mod just before they changeds the card format so I hope I didnt get the dregs...cos I got problems
I have wired everything up to a working RX13 and had all sorts of problems. Last nite I discovered one of the TLS boards was faulty and still no go ,.....and so to bed.
Today I tried again. I have had a chat with Rob and he tells me that he has had a few problems as well but he overcame his.....so I guess I aint the only one
Anyway, I tried all permutations of the boards and YAHOOOOOO I got it going...all spread over the dining room table... but going...bloody LOUD too.
I am getting away with this cos its Valentines day and the missus is being ultra nice to the old sod! ::)
So....I got start up, motors accelerating with lots of tin cans rattling in a dustbin (somewhere in Berlin by the sound of it) in the background......the most wicked machine gun....."jerk back" on the motors for cannon.....wind down on shut off...and a "hot start up" , turret left and turret right.
Problems. Wot I havent got is cannon bang. Also, L/hand stick down gives me barrel down, l/hand stick up what used to be airsoft fire gives me barrel up. So I got no cannon sound and no airsoft.
You should see the table...gawd wot a mess.....but I dont care cos I got lots of noise.
Do I have to do anything different for cannon fire. and airsoft.....or do I have another problem? I'm using HL transmitter too.
I cant be the only one who has had probs with this birds nest of wires .....HEEEEEELP
Theres a holiday for 2 in Bermuda and a Ferari thrown in for the person who knows the answer........
Cheers...........Mike

Re: El-mod help please.
Have you tried the K button if this works you can hot wire the transmitter so that when the left stick is moved to top it will fire the cannon button .

Re: El-mod help please.
from what i have read, and heard its not the best way to use elmod, by piggy backing with hl electronics, i would say when you can get a stand alone radio and reciever, it would cut out any greef you can get from joining the 2 types of electronics together, and it is so much better than what you already got, i would reccomend futaba in general and a 2.4ghz one at that, this is what i'm useing and i wouldnt want anything else

Re: El-mod help please.
Try to think of it in terms of circuits rather than functions. The HL/Elmod combination relies on the Elmod board interpreting the HL signals. So check the wiring is ok, and that you are using the correct buttons.
Even on my whizzy Elmod set up I ditched the airsoft (sawed the unit in half actually - to clear the hull wiring) and went for a battle system instead. Even Thomas will put people off using the HL version of their kit, as all you need is a basic 4 channel radio to do without it, and you save £25 in the process?
The airsoft is operated off the 8 pin socket and through 2 of the 3 wires on the mini-board (though you already know that! lol). You could try a multimeter and see if you get 5v when either the K button is pressed, or the stick is moved. My system fires the main gun on full up left stick, with barrel up/down on partial stick up/down.
