Gun elevation and depression
Gun elevation and depression
Can anyone tell me if there is a kit that will convert a taigen/torro tank that will allow the gun to raise and lower without having to elevate fully before it can lower?
Re: Gun elevation and depression
The problem isn't the elevation unit it's the electronics only supplies voltage one way hence one direction only. Only electronics which flip polarity are tamiya, ibu2, slu, elmod.
Another option is to use a servo but then you need electronics to control it again which is limited to ibu2, elmod, Clark.

Yup, an IBU2 setup will convert it so you can do what you're asking with the barrel.
Re: Gun elevation and depression
Would you need another radio channel to do that?

No. The IBU2 you can control the up and down at any time you don't need to cycle the gun all the way up.

Don't know about Elmod and IBU but for Clark you also have to rewire the existing elevation unit for independent up/down as it is sharing the POS(+) with the BB unit I believe.

IBU2 no rewiring anything for BB gun and elevation, just plug and play. Got an IBU2 in both my tanks.

Or find someone with a 3D printer and get them to print a new 'cone', the bit that pushes the barrel up and down. Instead of having one complete uphill/downhill curve, rejig it as a wave with two lower peaks. That way the barrel will go up and down twice on each cycle, so it will be twice as quick, and the peak elevation can be reduced, which is rarely needed anyway?
