Duxford 2015

Partly to explain why I haven't been up to much on my Normandy Tiger 1 of late, here are some pics of my boys latest models at the MAFVA Nationals at Duxford last weekend.

Sadly the Military vehicle show wasn't happening this year, but it was the 50th anniversary of the MAFVA competition and I'm glad to say that Hector (now 12) and Arthur (10) did as well as last year: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Very Highly Commended for all their dioramas.

Here they are:
The Last Push into Germany by Hector - Gold.jpg
Bloody Omaha by Hector - Silver.jpg
Goliath & Goliath Konigsberg April 1945 by Arthur - Bronze.jpg
Taming the Tiger by Arthur - VHC.jpg
Escape! Kursk by Arthur - KV1 with bailing out crew. VHC.jpg
It was a great day out quite apart from the medal success! Lots of RC tanks in 1/16 and 1/6 (anyone from this group?) and we also got to tour the workshop where a number of 1/1 scale vehicles were being repaired (including a White scout car).
