Heng Long no longer produce IR tanks

Heng Long have now apparently abandoned production of their IR tanks, they will all be airsoft from now on. It was pretty much a dead duck anyway as few used it. As to whether they have given up IR altogether, or have a Tamiya compatible system under development remains to be seen. They are sitting on a gold mine but they can't see it??

And for as long as they market their Tanks as "TOYS" it is unlikely that they will realise it,
The problem is that the market which they deal with and reports the sales figures to is primarily Toy stores, we are a very small part of their operation and until someone points out to them the money making opportunity's that are being lost it is unlikely to change.
The upside is that because HENG LONG do not know what they have, it gives "CLARK, IBU and many other specialists the chance to fill the gap and almost certainly do a better job than HENG LONG/TORRO/TAIGEN could do. shaun

That's very interesting.I see my tanks as scale models.The first thing I cut away is the BB shooter as I think it's too toy like in my opinion. I know there are lots out that use the system and love it.But to do away with the IR side is crazy. Still henglong and the others seam to have made up there minds so that's it.Brian...

hi guys, just reading the posts on the ir sysyems,and its just a personal view,non of my tanks have an ir system and i agree with brizo,the first thing that gets discarded is the BB shooter as i dont need it on my tanks.As i say,its purely personal,just my humble opinion.Regards Trackpin

Hi Well it will save me hunting for the black cap motor they fit in the BB gun (use it in the traverse ) cut the bottom off and put a slot in glue a servo on its a recoil unit . Easy so will not be buying their recoil units now.

My only worry is that prior to this, they have made their barrels/mantlet either interoperable or have a separate barrel available for the recoil unit on the IR version. If they stop making IR tanks, they might forgo the interoperability in the mantlet/turret and the recoil barrel.

The BB unit was a better frame for the servo recoil mod anyway, so losing the HL recoil is not a big loss or any loss at all.

hi guys yes it is true i managed to get most of the recoil units from heng long just as they stopped seems crazy to me.. as if they made it work like the tam so you could battle heng long /tam then they might have had a good market
