New Tiger Build.

Post by jackalope »

With my King Tiger just about finished I figured it was time to get my next build lined up. First off start with a good foundation, a brand new Taigen lower with torsion bar suspension. Next I wanted it to be detailed and have a correct turret and turret location on the upper deck and found a nice Hobby Boss 1/16 Tiger model kit on eBay so I ordered it. Also have a nice new shinny set of Taigen metal tracks and road wheels I may use, not sure yet as the Hobby Boss stuff is really nice and has brass bushings for the wheels rather then just sit in plastic or metal so thats up in the air for the moment. I have a brand new set of 4.1 hardened gearboxes and hi torque motors for it as well.

I have a Taigen 2.4 gig set up just laying around I may use or I may just get another IBU2 with sound upgrade for it. I'll try to get some pics up if I can get my phone to upload pics.

Tom where'd you get the late model road wheels and idlers? They're not from the kit are they?

I used the taigen full metal late tiger as a base, used the hobby boss top, back plate and turret. The full builds in the other build section.

Mini update until I can get some pics up. Everything is in red oxide primer, I still need to do the cutting of the 2 upper decks (H/L and Hobby Boss) and prime them. All my electronics arrived from Tankbear along with some new high performance motors and my pinion puller just arrived so now I can fit the gear boxes and get to building the suspension and drive train. I THINK I have everything now to complete the build so now I have GOT to figure out how to upload pics!

The combination of my mom's funeral, the IBU2 having a bad micro processor and now finding out that extreme stress can cause gout in my ankle the Tiger is kinda on hold.

I'm having a very rough time of it. :'(

Jack,
Please take care of yourself. The Hobby and your Tiger will be there when you are ready to pick it up and continue.
regards,
Painless
