Like to ask what shade of green should the late war T34/85 be??. There seams to be so many variants of this green. I have built both of the trumpeter T34's but i'v never realy sure that they are right!. I'm just about to start my T34 build. I have the Taigen metal lower hull, metal wheel set, sprockets and tracks all from Dave at Forgebear plus the Taigen top hull and metal IR turret. So any info would be great, Regards to All, Brian...

Re: T34/85 colours??
You're looking for 4BO green. It was the basic colour for almost all Soviet tanks. A some tanks before 1943 had a type of brown also applied but by the time the T34/85 entered production everything was 4BO green.
Which brand to use? It's up to you but some people use Tamiya Nato Green or Tamiya Olive Drab but IMHO that is too light - the Soviet tanks I've seen in the flesh are darker. Both AK and Mig also do 4BO sets. You'll find 1000 different opinions on the internet about this - like Dunkelgelb - 4B0 was not used or produced after the early 50s so I'd personally go with what you feel is best.

That's what some people have used for it but I can't say it's right or not. Like dunkelgelb, everyone has a different take on it.

Good Morning,
Here is a link to a site and a fellow who has spent far too much time crawling around, in and under Soviet armor and doing research in dusty old files to locate the elusive 4BO shade.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the info I had a feeling that NATO Green might be almost there. I will have a look at the MIG Ammo range they seam to do a lot of the more unusual couloir's . Brian...

How many tanks will you paint?! I didn't even finish a single bottle of Mig Ammo Dunkelgelb on my last King Tiger.

Hi,
When I painted the inside of my trumpeter Panzer IV it took 3 17mm bottles to cover. I don't use thinner with it because it makes it TOO thin. So maybe 3 will do it. Brian...
