What you need:
1. RC tank. (any kind will do)
2. Cardboard
3. Masking tape
4. Android smartphone (Other kinds may work as well)
5. Personal Computer (Mac should work also)
6. A WiFi network
What to do:
1. Use the cardboard and tape to create a "mount" for the smartphone so it can be attached to the top of the turret of your tank. I use masking tape because it will come off without damaging the tank's paint.
2. Download the "IP Webcam" (free) android app and install it on the smartphone. (Or use some other app if you prefer... IP Webcam was what worked the best for me. App can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... bcam&hl=en.)
3. Make sure the smartphone and computer are connected to the same WiFi network
4. Adjust the "IP Webcam settings" as desired and then select "start server".
5. Connect to the camera server using the IP address shown on the app.
6. Mount the smartphone on the tank.
7. Drive the tank using your Radio controller, and watch the video feed streaming to your computer to see where you are going! The app allows you to control the sensors and flash on the phone and record pictures and video too.
