Hi All,

I had a little present from Shapeways today. Inside was the Fitting Set I drew up for the tank, consisting of hinges, latches and stuff. :)
Before ordering the parts I printed them on the Makerbot first. Then I made some alterations and added a plastic kit type frame to prevent any loss of parts. Looking forward to adding some detail.

Hi All,
Some photos of the Tank with the first set of Track fitted. The other set to get it running should be about a week or two away.
Sorry about the quality of the photos I will be getting some my friends took soon and will post them on here.
The parts I had printed by Shapeways fitted perfectly and I now have opening doors and drivers flaps. Opening doors are not just for showing off, it enables me to hide switches out of sight.

Both sets of track are now on! :)

With luck I shall have the Tank running at the Overlord Show at Denmead, Hampshire on the 25th May. I will be the one with a sign around my neck saying 'Yes I made it!... I know!' :/

It runs!!!!

Ok it wasn't the smoothest of runs, but the tank managed five runs before the chain jumped off and ended play. Kinda forgot to fit a chain tensioner. Oops!
A friend of mine videoed the model running and I will try to get some extracts on here in the next few day.
Lots still to do, but happy to reach the running stage at last. Phew!

Remember to up the play settings.

Ok so the chain kept slipping because I had forgotten a chain tensioner, but the Tank managed five runs before rattling itself apart.

Not finished, but major mile stone reached. Phew!

Hi All,

Managed to get the Mk1 tanks out for a second run at the Southern Model Show at the weekend. Great fun, if a little wet!

If all goes well I will have the Tail Wheel Assembly fitted for the Model Show at Bovington next month.

More photos to come, didn't have my camera with me so waiting on seeing some friends for photos and videos.

WOW! This one came a long way...remember seeing it when I first joined....Outstanding effort and result   ...Are you going to put any paint on it? or just let it age on it's own ?

I remember we had a conversation last year about the difficulty of deciding whether to make a shelf queen or a "Worker" and it looks to me that any compromises you have made in the name of practicality just do not show,
Difficult to describe A Tank as a thing of beauty but this comes mighty close.
