Thanks John! I'll do so! The more research I do on the Panzer IV, the more I wanna do this-and-that..... lots of possibilities! Thanks again!

Hi Inaki not much to show, put the first coat paint on the turret but theres nothing in it as yet I've decided not to put shurzen on the sides as I think it may be vunerable as it is a working model.

Thanks for the plug John! I've put the plans up in my member space as they'll be easier to find there. I also need to get around to adding the revisions to the Panzer III plans :)

I should point out that my brackets were done more by eye than any attempt at accuracy. I hope I've achieved a reasonable balance between robustness and appearance :-\

DOG: Nice work on the exhaust! Atleast you've got some progress going on the turret. I've just pieced together the gun mantlet and yet to cut the other parts from the sprue.

Ex-Pat-Tanker: Done by eye?! Even more impressive. What material did you use for the brackets? I'm also trying to find ways to enhance it's robustness since, as Gary pointed out, it's going to be a working model.

I used K&S 1/8 "x 1/32" brass strip from Tower Hobbies. Its a bit thicker than some others use but its easy to work and it does the job ;)
I had a worked example for the turret - I bought a 1/18 el-cheapo Panzer IV with the intention to do something with, but then HL brought out their own so it got kicked to the kerb - it was still a useful pattern for the turret brackets tho.

The rest of it was based on an old Esci Panzer IV ausf H I did as a kid, not sure if the skirts are accurate, I might yet lose the front segment...

I see..... As for me, no progress on the build at the moment  :( my LHS ran out of Dark Yellow, so I'm basically limited to cutting the parts from the sprues.... maybe some glueing here and there... but nothing much yet.... I'll bet Gary has gotten some more work on his Panzer IV turret done....

Good to hear from you again Gary! I actually thought about trying to use the drivers hatch. Maybe get an aftermarket workable metal hatch. But seeing how tight it is inside, I think I have to reconsider other options. How about you?  :D

I'm still having a hard time figuring out how to paint the upper hull  ;D I still can't get enough of how great the sound quality is! I'm currently running it with the incomplete upper hull, but I'm already enjoying the drive! Have you already tried hooking up yours?
