Thank you, I'm making the tray up as I go along, no doubt I'll have to make another one before long, but so far so good! She is upto 7kg (lower hull only) at the moment, guess I'll need bigger motors at some point so I'll have less space, I'll be glad to get rid of the mato gearboxes they are terrible!

Oh Jim that is a lovely looking piece of work,
I am sure you have thought about it, but in case you hav'nt, you will need to block oil spraying from your gearboxes going over the electronic package, a bulkhead is easily built from plasticard and is usually thought of as also offering extra rigidity to the hull, perhaps not such a vital issue in your case :haha:
I shall be interested in how you propose to hold hull to body, the usual quick release looks unlikely so perhaps magnets? Whatever I am watching this build with interest  shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hey everybody, I've just a quick update looks like the tx/Ibu issue I had is finally sorted so I can now move forward on my build! thanks again to tankbear and scalawag, I'll posts pics soon as I can.

Apologies jarndice I hadn't seen you post, I hadn't thought of a spray guard, looks like I've now got another thing to add to my list! You have already got me thinking now! As for the hull body fastening, it came with the quick release catch as standard, and as it stands it should still work :) next job is wiring and new speaker box as the old one doesn't have enough bass and I'd like to mount the speaker pots in it.

Cheers Jim

Hi kiaser I'm gonna be running 2 x Turnigy bolt 2400mah 3s's I think the max voltage They can run at 13 volts but I don't have the charger at the moment :'( anyway they are connected with a parallel XT60 adapter I found on HK, since the last pics I posted I've had a massive rearrange of the insides so far, it now has a 5mm baseplate instead of 2.5 (to much flex) and it's been shortened, new speaker box but that will be changing again because I'm not happy with it, I've also flipped the Ibu upside down to hide the wiring, and I've dropped the smoker till I can make a new one that's more compact.

Scalawag and tankbear have helped me massively in sorting my 9xr out, and it didn't help the motors were wired wrongly, I'm very disappointed in the mato gearboxes so poorly put together they bent the frames to make the output shaft fit! So I've ordered some taigen steel ones yesterday :D hopefully they will be better!

I'll add some better pic's soon ;)

Hi TigerJim, this is what I have done to protect my IBU2 from any oil or grease from the gearboxes.
