Sure would be great to have you back on the job so to speak !
Yes, Herr Bix was indeed an accomplished tank-knight, and had his share of close calls. Surviving the conflict was the ultimate feat.
Interesting narrative on his final encounter with a '152 that refused to submit like the other Soviet machines tended to do.

Much appreciated Mr Wobbly, I feel the same about the acres of styrene you throw up in the air so easily & when it lands on your tank, looks perfect !!wibblywobbly wrote:Following this with interest. Amazing how you can make one of those mounts so perfectly yet alone a matching set. This is going to be one heck of an original build.
I am real keen to see if I can get rocket motors to live launch like the video link I put up from overseas.
NOT at anyone elses creation though

Re: PANTHER G ZU-FUSS
"Damn the torpedo's" they are ON
Lined the centre axis up with the tube material I am going to use as the spigot for the baskets to secure into the hull mounts.
Still keen to make the baskets removable, but reticent to the fact that this may not be the best outcome.
Now those mystery appendages are on the hull, as close as both (model)practical and skills allow, I can see the probability that they may have been used to mount disposable rockets.

Yep, the last bits are the swivel mounts that attach the crates to the hull mounts.billpe wrote:Looks really good. Almost done now?
Of course the detailing etc ...........
The night fighting hardware is, well, a royal-redheaded pain in my ass so to speak.

If anyone can point out the 3-part set I need for commander, gunner & driver I would much appreciate it.

Good Morning,
RCtank.de has these. A little pricey but we are 'somewhat' used to that by now...http://www.rctank.de/Infrared-night-vis ... h-headlamp

Re: PANTHER G ZU-FUSS
Got on with the template cutting for the basket mountings. Used cardboard & the brass swivel tube until it looked right.
As my mystery mounts are a bit higher than the position on the Littlefield hull(due to mine being a G rather than an A) to be above the schurzen hangers, the plates that will carry the baskets are not quite in proportion to the 1/35th drawings I am using to guide me.
Holding the rocket baskets up in place relative to the cardboard seems to be close enough to the overall proportioning of the drawings, allowing a bit of slide for the 'A' v 'G' differences.
Have a bit more cardboarding to do before brass is cut, but happy enough with the concept & dimensions to carry on.

Cheers Mr Painless, I also need the gunners unit, and the drivers unit though .PainlessWolf wrote:Good Morning,

I have seen the set of 3 for sale before, ages ago, but do you think I can find them now ??

Although there is little evidence to confirm that a 3-station system was employed, the common modeling theory is that there were tanks fitted with 3-station systems. Thats why my rear stowage box is bigger than it needed to be ( the normal stowage box for the NVG was only a bit bigger than the standard box)as it was only for a cupola mounted unit & associated hardware.
As for 'used to pricey'.............that goes with the territory eh mate
