ibu2 with henglong kv1 recoil

Post by Tankalot »

Hi All

Ive put my ibu2 I got from rctank.de into my kv, I've changed the file in the sd card to the kv1 sound files, but the recoil doesn't seem to have enough time to do its thing, it will do it then the next time you fire its re arms a bit then a bit more , then it does it.

So I presume I have to change the time the recoil motor has electric going to it?'

Where do I look, and what should the magic number be!

Thanks All

And happy Easter

Is the recoil the HL version (black) or the upgraded Asiatam/Taigen one which has combined elevation?

If it's the latter then there should be a thick wire (often red) this needs attach to the battery negative. This provides a return path so the unit returns to the start position.

If it's the black heng long one need to adjust the timings in the setup file. Look for this command

RecoilTimeDigital=500

try changing to 1500 then move up or down to suit the cycle of the recoil.

Its the henglong one, so ill have a fiddle, can you get a better recoil unit from asiatam? I hate the henglong ones, or would it be simpler to get a servo??

Yes Asaitam do one (think same one as the Tiger1) but to be honest now servo control is available that is a better option. £3 or so for micro servo and fully adjustable in your IBU2 setup file, compared to the Asiatam (probably £20+) and no adjustment to the speed or action.

I've gone with a hl recoil converted to servo. Its really easy to do. You will need to convert the barrel flash led to a 2 pin connector also. Its normally triggered by a switch when the barrel comes right back. If you get stuck give me a shout, I will try to help
