Hi Alwyn, what a cracking build, I see BLIMP has come up trumps with the Chequer Plate, I have no idea what you intend doing with it, but if it is purely decorative, Then PEDDINGHAUS do Chequer Plate decals in sheets.

Alwyn,
Enjoy Easter. As many have said, this is a freaking, amazing build! I was smiling and laughing over your use of the Pepsi can components. Truly, old school, my friend. ;o) Following along.
regards,
Painless

Re: M7 Priest scratchbuild
Thanks for the kind words Jarndice, I prefer texture on the chequer plate because it's going on the floor of the cab. I'm going to experiment with milliputty and mesh as Woz advised, I've got some mesh that should give a perfect texture, and if it doesn't work I'll order some of the styrene that Blimp suggested.

Looking really good now, great to see you improvising with the parts, I often scour the house looking for something that is the 'right size and shape' as well, there is a definate sense of achievement when that 'part' is found.

Problem is when that perfect "something" belongs to the girlfriend.

That's when the better half says 'Have you seen so-and-so item' and you reply with a straight face 'well where did you have it last........
Actually my wife looks for things for me to use to save me spending more money so that's the answer - Motivation! Alwyn

WOZ Made me smile, I think messing with the property of one's partner is a gateway to disaster, WIBBLY has it about right and not long ago while searching the kitchen for a bit of "TUBEING" I came upon an empty MARKER PEN. PERFECT for so many uses. There is one item of my true loves dressing table I sometimes "Borrow" and I blame ALPHA, EMERY BOARDS! they can be cut to size and can be used in the tightest of places in my Tanks indeed anywhere that a file won't go.

I have resorted to absconding with some of them myself, after telling her I am borrowing them, she says to keep them. LOL

Re: M7 Priest scratchbuild
What fun I've had with the servos!!
I bought some micro servos intended for those drone copters and they really are tiny (thankfully). Did the usual gutting out of the electronics and connecting direct to the motor so it's basically a motor and gearbox, plus pruned off the lugs so they can run 360 degrees, then started to fit them. Fitting the elevation servo was fiddly, and then I hit the problem with the elevation servo needing to run in one direction only. Needed to make the connection swivel, so tried all sorts of things with brass rod and got really frustrated. Then came the light bulb moment and after plundering my fishing tackle box I came up with a miniature swivel that was perfect. I couldn't get as much elevation as I wanted but it's still pretty effective so I stopped fiddling, eventually enough is enough.

Gun slew was much easier and with the tiny servo it was easy to hide it where it won't detract from the model detailing.

Now to get the electronics sorted and the lights for gun muzzle flash and front and rear lights built and connected.
