Re: HL MOTOR upgrade options
It's nice to have a fast tank specially modern stuff but unless your in open space you struggle to control the tank.

Re: HL MOTOR upgrade options
Looks fun
but with some setups you loose all the other functions like turret rotation, smoker etc...
I like the bulldog the best so far, but that Tiger adds new meaning to Blitzkreig

BC: I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?

Re: HL MOTOR upgrade options
puramo,
My suggestion is replace that battery first, with a lipo 2s 20C, see how you like your tank.
Heres my T34 (metal version) with Maxpro 480's, bushed steel gears, taigen electronics, venom 2S 20C 5400 lipo. Sorry un-pro camera work, holding a iPod and transmitter in one grip.

w/ HL "red" 390's everything the same. This is what I'm staying with. Got bearing gearboxes coming.

All my other tanks have 480's, 3:1 Bearing steel gear boxes. I wanted the T34 to be the fastest of them, but the T34 has a smaller drive wheel giving it a higher overall ratio, so unless I replace all my others with 4 shaft boxes (4:1) having the same motor it will always be slower.
My only gripe about the T34 is the longitudinal grip of the tracks, as you can see doing a single track turn, I have to give a little dual track bump to over come the slipping. I might try adding "more" weight, got about 1.25lbs on the nose, makes going over the curbs easy as you can see.

Re: HL MOTOR upgrade options
Hey there
yep I have a box full of lipos for my RC trucks so no prob there
do the 480 motors run good ? Do they overheat the board ?
Can you post a link to where you can get these motors and a reasonable gearbox to go with it
thanks again
(ps here's mine on standard 380 motors I believe, it doesn't slip like your's seems to but it's not as fast either)

Where I buy motors, no wires or connectors, just swap with old motors' wires.

Awaiting theses: as above is out of stock

The slippage is due to grass, the grass drags on the entire lower hull surface -the T-34 rides low, on the surface your video was taken I'd have no problems. I'm still playing around added weight and the C of G. All my german tanks front motors/gearboxes don't have any issues, even the stock M-26 exhibited the T-34 issues until weight was added too the nose, now she's a great runner: https://youtu.be/BZzp3F8z_YY this was built for my son, my Pershing is much the same but with the 480's full bearing gearboxes and Lipo. Note you can see the silver (zinc) stick-on wheel weights, and naked Taigen MFU with fan in a cross flow setting -this gives the airsoft and traverse units clearance.
