A screw loose...

Post by BoothyBoy »

Hi all

Whilst my tank was in bits for a small refurb, the wife threw away the screws that hold the two halves together. Any ideas on either where to get new ones or similar?

Cheers

Hi, If when you joined the Forum in February 2012 you had introduced yourself and let us know where you were from and the type of Tank and its maker I would be better placed to give you a helpful answer!
So Boothy welcome to the Forum and where are you from and what Tank is it and who is its maker? shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hardware store is probly your best bet without knowing what tank you're running.

Pretty much all of the HL tanks are held together by the same mountain of screws. If you get around for and put 2 front and 2 back, it will hold together perfectly well, and only take a few seconds to take apart if you need to in the future.

If you take the upper hull to B&Q or somewhere you should be able to find some small self tapping screws that will fit.

Turn something bad into something better
forget about the screws, order some neodymium magnets and you won't have to bother
screwing up the upper hull ever again
there are some threads about the magnets

as a quick fix rubber bands and paper clips and so on will usually get your through the day

my wife is very good about my stuff, it's my cats that eat everything.....
BC: I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?

This might be some use

There may be someting there that would fit. The screws are almost certainly pan head phillips but the size I'm not sure of. Either that of head to your local DIY of choice. Alwyn
