Mike,
Thanks for posting the picture of the wiring for the HL StuG. Have you considered using an Asiatam type recoil and flash IR unit? Those might be more 'servo ready'

Looking at the Asiatam unit, it looks a lot wider. Im not sure I would be able to get the traverse to work if I take much more room up.

Mike,
You're correct, Sir. It is wider but it is also thinner top to bottom. ;o) I'll be following along to get tips from your build since I have to do the same to my resin StuG here soon.

Rather then submit this twice. First thing I've completed is fitting track adjusters. Pics and full guide on the below thread

My first ever bit of air brushing. Thought I would start with the hull as most of it is covered by the wheels if something went wrong.

Should I put the dots in to make it ambush camo?
