Hello there
I love painting afv's even if I'm not much good
A good airbrush (like Iwata will change everything)
I currently use water based acrylics thinned with alcohol for a very dry finish (and makes cleaning the airbrush easy)
imo the water based acrylics are just out of this world - check out the vallejo videos for what you can do with these kinds of paints (no fire risk, no smell, clean with water - wow amazing B| )

as for using oils, you could do worse than read Panzer Aces magazine, (the one with the Jagdpanzer is phenomenal, vol 44, lots of pix and tips about using oils over acrylics) you see how people use oil paints, thinned and in very small quantities (because they don't dry very well) over the top of acrylics

YES Billpe I agree with you 200 percent Mig Jimenez is mind blowing in his painting abilities (I love his accent too, makes me want to watch the videos again and again)
BC: I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?
