fitting rear lights

Post by tanker 242 »

hi guys ,fitted rear l.e.d`s in my HL kv1 & t-34/85 so far, for the kv1 connected red & black wires to the front light ad`d two 820 ohm resisters in series on the red wire going to the rear l.e.d light & it works ok bouth front & rear light up together no loss of power to the front light, the HL t-34/85 is the easy`st, one as all you need to do is connect the resisters to the red wire then connect red & black wires to a two pin plug & plug it into the port on the 2.4ghz unit for the rear light ,so now when you switch on the power the front one flashes & the rear one comes on when you start up ,[ two 820 ohm resisters in series is the set up designed for an operating voltage of 6v/dc this gives a continuous current of aprox.8ma to 12ma][ for the tiger1 & pzr 4 set up as per the kv1,] [ iff fitting two rear lights then add two more resisters to 2nd rear light red wire ],[ resisters are fitted between l.e.d & front connection ] hope this helps anyone thinking of fitting rear lights, tanker242

Tanker

that's great
is one big resistor ok too, or are they hard to find, (there's an electronics store near my office..)
I couldn't find a spare 2pin on my 2.4G board for the rear light
can I be cheeky and ask for a picture ???

I don't use the blue reset button thingy so I could get power from that one, it's a 3 pin but it's available
mind you it's all a bit tight at the back there with the giant great big smoker taking up all the space between the motors, I'll be happy when they release a smaller version

thanks again, will try to find a 2 pin clip and some wire, got some leds around but no resistors yet...
BC: I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?

hi puramo try maplins they sell pkts of l.e.d`s with resisters you get 50 diodes & 20 resisters for £6 -75p diodes are various shapes & colors & resisters range from 165 ohms to 820 ohms ,[6x165ohm,6x680ohm,8x820ohm] iff its the new heng long 2.4ghz its the plug at the bottom right as you look at it below where you plug in the smoker ,sorry haven't got a photo but iff you look on line for the HL2.4ghz unit I am sure you will find a photo of it,tanker 242.

Hey thanks

I have a 2.4G board but you must have a more recent version as there are no spare plugs available, there is a a space but it has no pins, so I'd have to either use the blue plug space or wire directly to the front led, which isn't so hard
enjoy yours, nice little mod
