Well pretty much finished apart from the paint and weathering. Wheels fixed as per Herman's request!

Not sure if I dare try the new airbrush on this yet, I might stick to the rattle can and hairy stick.
Still I'm a bit chuffed with the result.

Re: 5.5 inch howitzer 1/16 scratch build
Just...........WOW
It would look odd, but as you have the ONLY actual 5.5 in 1/16th that I have seen :
Just clear-cote it so others may follow.
In the realm of unique, the AEC and the 5.5 you have done makes you the 'Lama' of towed artillery. in my eyes.
I have never painted any example of one of these outside of a 1/72 Airfix version, so I will look to this as "what should be"
Scratchbuilt to boot, not bought.
Just, bloody WOW.

Re: 5.5 inch howitzer 1/16 scratch build
Herman thank you, you're very kind. I guess the 88 would be interesting, I'll add it to the list. what should I do for a tow vehicle for it?
Anyway here is the rig after some painting and finishing on the matador. Cab inside painted, driver is back from his hols, windows are in, just need to get the finishing and weathering done now!

It's good to go to the MAD meeting on Sunday even if it's not finished yet. I've still got all the fiddly bits to do like the gun sight and the breech, plus some tidying up and a bit of grime and mud splash to give it character. Still I can relax a bit and maybe do some work on the Abrams tomorrow for a change.
