Michael, I ended up using one of the very short arms on the servo and just bent the rod through it. This seemed to work much better than my previous system, whereby I had another little ball joint on the end.

Yup and that would reduce your pull angle as well. I am still curious to see other IBU servo recoil constructions as I always find the Clark ones not quite deep enough for my liking.

I also need to start trying this bent rod business as I have seem couple of them working quite well. I tend to over-engineer on the pull rods/linkage arms.
