Good evening all! Quick question, I've seen a fair few tanks with the fenders on the side taken off! Basically so the entire track is exposed! I've also seen the same done in real historical pictures of the tiger. I was wondering if anyone could explain why they done it, And WHO on terms of which Units of the German Military!
Thanks, DR!

Re: Tiger 1 Question
Hi DR,
+1 with Edpanzer ..damaged so badly in combat /manoeuvering that they were removed by the crew or 'Torn Off'
They were fitted at the factory, but they are only bolted on and not welded, so they are not that difficult to remove.

Re: Tiger 1 Question
Thanks for the speedy replies, Guys! I personally think it looks pretty awesome without the fenders! One thing I notice about my RC Tiger 1 is that Mud, Grass etc seems to clump badly under the fenders, Maybe I'll go for the 'damaged' look and remove them! Any Ideas how? Also, My tiger seems to throw it's tracks often when used on off-road terrain, Any fixes?
Cheers, DR!

Re: Tiger 1 Question
Hi DR,
A few details of the Tiger would be helpful.
Is it the Heng Long one that you bought and what is the specification ?, metal or plastic, tracks, wheels, and gearboxes etc.
This information will help the guys to answer question.

Re: Tiger 1 Question
It's a Heng Long, Metal tracks, Metal Gearbox, Metal sprockets, RX18 board, Apart from that it's standard, Basically it's the 'upgraded' version

Re: Tiger 1 Question
Hello DR , the main reason they were detachable was so the Tiger 1 would fit on railway carriages - the outer wheels were also removed and special , narrower 'transport' tracks had to be used too !
to the bouncy room ! Yay !

Re: Tiger 1 Question
Hi DesertRat, I have the same Tiger and ran into the same problem. Try this, take the tracks off, look at the inside of the teeth that the idler wheels ride between and see if yours have little bumps like mine did. I used a Dremel tool to grind them off and made sure the groove between the teeth was nice and smooth, this went a LONG way to stopping mine from throwing them.DesertRat wrote:It's a Heng Long, Metal tracks, Metal Gearbox, Metal sprockets, RX18 board, Apart from that it's standard, Basically it's the 'upgraded' version
But I went as far as replacing all the running gear and lower hull and now it runs like a champ! But that's a good chunk of change to upgrade. Try the track check first also you may need to add a washer to be put behind the idler as sometimes they're too far in board set.

Re: Tiger 1 Question
Almost forgot. Check out the things to fix on your tank section, go to the H/L Tiger and there should be more info to help you with your track issue.
Even with all I have done it still can't do 360 spins in grass nor sharp turns. Some of the track throwing is just learning to drive the tank.
