Hi slush, you can buy a pair of crystals like this - there are various on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heng-Long-1-1 ... 3cd91ad681
The one marked RX goes in the receiver board in the tank, the one marked TX goes in the transmitter that you get form e-bay, and hey-presto you should have a working tank. Alwyn

Just to clarify slush you have to unscrew the receiver board to get to the two pin socket that the RX crystal goes into, and on the transmitter there is a small square socket on the bottom right of the transmitter that the TX crystal goes into. Test it before fastening the receiver back in, and MAKE SURE nothing touches the back of the receiver board as if shorted across the circuits while the power is on it can blow and then you'd have to replace it. Oh and I don't know if you have used a HL tank before but to turn it on on the transmitter, there is a button on the left side of the row of three on the bottom of the transmitter, when you press it the tank should make a starting up noise and after about 15 seconds it should respond to commands from the tx (sounds obvious but it took me about 15 minutes to figure out when I got my first tank with no instructions). :{ :{ regards Alwyn

Good Morning,
I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but on those previous models like this tank, you should be able to see the RX Crystal in a slot in the battery compartment once you remove the battery. There should be ( notice I said should not would ;o) a curl of label with the frequency number on it that you use to carefully pull the crystal from it's socket on the RX board. You probably will have to buy a whole set of crystals at any rate but they and the radio should be very inexpensive by this time.
regards and enjoy that tank!
