control

Post by edpanzer »

After a week or so of owning my first tank I thought I would check in with a small concern. When driving straight on I've noticed trying to do a normal turn left or right its very slow to do so even on concrete. Spin turns are fine though.
In medium size grass it slows down and is reluctant to turn at all, although from what I've read this is normal. It loves mud which is good as I see a lot of mud in its future :haha:
One other thing is for the first time today I put the ir receiver (apple???) In for the first time and I expected some sort of light but nothing happened is this normal with the taigen/heng long?
As you can see I am showing off my inexperienced nature again...sorry :haha:

Hello edpanzer, yes, this is normal for a Taigen/Torro tank. Aim your TV remote at it and see if it will take a hit. It may or may not depending on the remote. As far as the turning issue, you may want to check your tracks for equal slack. However, some of my Taigen/Torro tanks do turn better than others.

Eddie,

You can check your IR emitter by using digital camera. If you look thru the digital camera at the IR emitter, when you fire you should see a flash but only thru the digital camera. In terms of IR receiver, you will need at least a Sony remote to get any response, and it would have to be the right ones as well.

I've never done IR battling but since IR is light after all; why don't you try using a mirror to see if your emitter will trigger the receiver???
