Differences between Taigen vs Hengleng Tanks?

Post by hawaii »

Hi guys
New to the forum and would like to buy several tanks for outdoor battle fields. Wondering your expert thoughts on Taigen tanks vs Henglong Tanks. I understand Tamiya is the best but really expensive. I tried the search but came up with Zero matches for some reason.
Thanks for the feed back. :D

Good Afternoon,
This is one of those types of questions where having a Sticky on the Answer would be really useful. In the beginning of Taigen they used HL molds and their add on parts and details ( tracks, sprockets, idlers, etc. ) would fit on the HL tanks without any issue. Fast forward to today and Taigen still uses HL molds for their older tanks but they now have an association with Asiatam and by default, Torro so they use their parts and metal add-ons to upgrade their tanks. Notably, the lower hulls on the metal versions which have torsion bar suspensions and nicer gearboxes as stock. Taigen is also coming out with their own new tanks, the Sherman and T-34\85 and others with new molds, gearboxes and parts. They are experimenting with hobby grade radios and different charging systems as well as a shadowy version of an airsoft gun with recoil which is a dead ringer for another gun developed by one of the long time members here on the forum. The other day on Amazon, I saw the new HL Abrams for sale with a set of Taigen electronics in it. Everyone seems to be in bed with each other as far as tank manufacturing goes. As long as you do your research as to what part fits which version of your tank, you will not go wrong.
regards,
Painless

P.S. Kiss your wallet goodbye.

Do you like Fords or Chevrolets? My first tank was a Taigen. I still have it and it is a great tank. My second tank was a Heng Long tank. I like it too. Since then, I've bought only Taigen or Torro. They come with 2.4GHZ radios as standard and that was important to me. I also buy the IR versions so that I can battle with family and friends. I'm not sure if Heng Long is still making IR version tanks. The Heng Long fans will know for sure. Taigens customer service is great, (I understand Heng Long's T-34/85 now comes with a 2.4GHZ radio.)
