The original M10 was an American tank destroyer. Leading up to the Battle of the Bulge, a plan was developed to sow confusion behind the American lines by dressing up German SS soldiers as American and sending them to cut communications, give wrong info and reports and generally make havok while the Offensive was ongoing. They had for use, some three(?) disguised\converted Panther tanks that were mocked up to look like the American M10 along with captured Jeeps, etc.

Hi Painless,
Thank you for that, I knew that the German Luftwaffe tried that but I didn't realise that the ruse extended to the ground warfare aswell.
Made for a very interesting read, I wonder how successful or unsuccessful it actually was.
