Re: Another tank recommendation
HL stopped selling tanks with the old RX-14 boards a long time ago. Now they're going digital so even the RX-18's may get phased out.

It has rx18 in it.
I'd say yes. Looking at the commaders copula (3rd pic) it has an empty slot for the IR sensor which only came out after the RX-18's came out.
It's been a while but I think the RX18's came out before the Panther G had been released so as long as it's a Smoke and sound model it should be an RX18.

MR Orange Just before you go spending your hard earned on that PANTHER, I couldn't help noticing it was shown with an old 27 Mhz controller, this relies on a pair of crystals whereas the newer stock HENG LONG Products use 2.4 Ghz digital which gives many advantages such as the ability to use the transmitter in the company of others without finding your tank being driven inadvertently by someone else!!! Perhaps you might want to ask the seller whether it has an Analogue or digital system.

Re: Another tank recommendation
It'll be analogue but I haven't seen a digital tank for around £100.
If it's just for your son to play about with then that won't be a problem.

I don't believe the Heng Long Tigers or any of their WWII tanks have the 2.4GHZ radio unless they've been upgraded. The one you linked obviously does. I don't know if their Abrams is on the market yet.mrorange26 wrote:Ok are the newer tanks from heng long like the this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321606096223? ... EBIDX%3AIT just as good as the tigers etc.
I like Taigen tanks and that is what I buy these days. However, my second tank is a Heng Long Sherman, it came with metal tracks, gear boxes, idlers, and drive wheels. I upgraded mine to their 2.4GHZ radio. My point being, it is a great tank, runs very well. I also like the smoke and volume control on the front of the transmitter. I wish Taigen and Torro would follow suit. Whatever you get have fun. It's a great hobby and the guys here are always ready to help.
