Good. Now I have seen pics of the halftrack with the 105 mounted in it but the history of the use of the halftrack says that it was not produced as a production model though I'm sure some units wanting quick moving artillery support would have done field mods as the 75mm was more of an anti tank gun then a howitzer.

Hi. What I seen is later end of WW2 and a few in Korea..seam to have been a unit modified to shell specific targets.but then it was a universal vehicle .just thought I can build the rocket launcher version.may be ..Ray

I've done some further research on the 105 halftrack. It was designated T19 and built on the M3 chassis but with the roller rather winch on front . Total production was 324 units in 1942. They were used in north Africa, Sicily, and some in Italy. Those that survived were converted back to standard m3 troop carriers and never left. The thing that made it relatively unusefull is that it could only carry 8 rounds of ammo by itself so the speed advantage if the halftrack in moving forward was negated by the need to have ammo follow it to its emplacements. The M7 priest Sherman based tracked vehicle took its place by the time of the Normandy invasions. Woz did an excellent priest posting back in October in show off.
The pics are ones I've found of t19's being prepared for shipment to North Africa

The only pic I've seen of a halftrack with rocket launchers was taken in India. It still has the star marking. I think it was going to be used as a target vehicle for the Indian air force.
Have you found other pics of this adaptation?

Hi if anyone does find a 1/16 105mm howitzer then please shout loud, I'm not sure I would shell out a lot of money but it would help with my priest build if I could find a decent kit, otherwise it's back to building in styrene.
Cheers Alwyn

Yes the Russian truck mounted rocket launchers were used quite a lot.
The only other US halftrack mounted rockets I've seen were in I think the start of the movie War of the worlds (the original version) and that was just a studio made up one using a set of launcher tubes and mount taken from the rocket launching jeeps that where a real thing.
Myself I'll wait for a suitable 75 mm gun mount.
