Rx 18 question

Hi guys

I've given up on this damned flash unit it's more trouble than it's worth.

An idea occurred to me though. Which are the two pins on the cn3 that go to the main gun to get it to fire? None of the rx 18 diagrams show these pins functions . I was thinking there might be enough voltage to wire an led in there much the same as the two pins for the machine gun? And then any idea of the voltage that would come off of it? Might be a simple solution?

You need to have a second 8 pin connector to run the 8 pin connector to and a recoil unit with its micro switch. Its the same setup as HL.

Argh bugger! Now have the flash unit working perfectly!

All I wanted was the gun sound and flash, nothing more. All I had to do was wire the micro switch permanantly shut, pull on the stick and hit the k button. Voila!

I have the entire rx18 rig out of the tank at present so no idea as to the engine recoil effect.

Hi wobbly, thanks for that.

I just wanted folks to know that you can have the muzzle flash by simply shorting those pins on cn3 even if you have an old airsoft unit. If I'd had this info a month ago this model would have been done by now!

So for future ref if you just want to fit a flash unit to ANY age of tank:

1) fit the five pin plug into cn3
2) cut the end off the two pin plug coming off the five pin and wrap wires together.
3) you can now trigger the flash with the left stick along with the bang sound!

Hi yep i dun this mod years ago you have two neg.and a pos.. on c3 connector .. you only need 3 wires to make it all work one neg goes to motor recoil one to neg on led flash and pos goes to motor recoil linked to led not a hard mod to do as long as you have the micro switch to control neg contacts for led/recoil ..pushing left stick forwards triggers led flash and recoil ray.
