My Maus with TARR Mk I Smoker

Post by MichaelC »

This smoker is amazing. This is just with HL stock smoke fluid. Can't wait to try the Mega Steam diesel. The Maus is actually one of teh few German tanks that uses diesel !

Michael,
What a beauty that tank is. ;o) You'll really like the Mega Steam stuff. I can see every pulse of the smoker now on my tanks and on the proportional ones, you get a big cloud when they move off, just like in real life. ;o)
regards,

That's just beautiful. What I want to know is how in the HECK did you manage to do such a great job on drilling out those flimsy (and thin) exhaust ducts?

Thanks guys....... Never got so excited about a smoker before. Anyway, the exhaust is not too bad, I just drill a big hole from underneath to fit the smoker tubing, and then a small one that just fit in the flat exhaust from the outside on an angle so that they intersect. I have actually wrap a brass piece right around the exhaust before so it managed to hide some of the ugliness of the drilling.

The smoker is quite small and managed to fit between the small Hobbyking 9x receiver in the hull. Unfortunately the smoker is not proportional and I don't think Clark board are proportional like IBU but will see how it runs. I am just so happy smoke is pouring out of the exhausts......... on HL fluid to boot !

Just a quick update, I am replacing all the hatches/periscopes/fan etc on the turret with metal ones. Found this place that sells all of them. So now I can actually fit a IR receiver on top once I have some of these openings. The original resin kit it is all molded on.
