IBU2 Can I test IR sensors?

Post by wibblywobbly »

Just spent two days fitting a custom loom inside my Bulldog turret and hiding the sensors and led's. Although the led's light up when the tank is switched on, so I know that they are ok, is there any way to test the sensors, eg with a tv remote or anything else?

The only other boards I have are RX18's, and I am assuming that simply plugging a Maplins IR emitter into one of those won't work when fired at an IBU2.

Cheers

Hi Rob,

Only way is to hit it with Tamiya IR code. I can't say I have tried using a tv etc remote so something might work.

Cheers Ian, I may have to wait till Bogeyman gets his Tiger up and running as he has an IBU2 in it.

Or you could meet up with Andy Stobbs he has a few battle ready tanks he could shoot at you with ;)

Andy is 40 miles south of here, though if he was up for it I would meet up with him for a quick test. I am thinking of coming up to MAD in March, it would be good to know that it worked before then.
