Merlin,
Looks like a very nice haul indeed! I've got those German figures ( altho' a couple of them are awaiting new boots thanks to a Greyhound Girl named Wish ) and they are out on duty with their assigned armor. I use the Tamiya weathering kits but have not tried the sticks. I assume they are just oversized versions of the foam applicator included in the kits and preloaded. These kits are great! They include basic info on how to achieve effects like weathered metal and dust, dirt and mud. Even the rust works well and I have found that using these in combination produce the best effects on vehicles. The brush is used for successive layers allowing you to do a light or heavy layer. The foam tab is used for quick application of heavier layers and for edging. Youtube is full of How-To videos but if you experiment a little, you will be amazed at the realism these kits add.
regards,
Painless
P.S. Keep the dust out of your eyes and don't inhale it. The warnings are there for a reason ( Some duff ate this stuff I guess ) but any reasonable person can use these kits safely.

Merlin, the weather kits are great. They are powder based but sometimes I get a wet brush and you can paint it on gently, once you are happy with the effect you can then seal it with a flat coat. I used mine all the time, especially when you want to do a touch-up and need to blend it back into the original colour.
BTW, the sponge brush that it comes with is pretty good but won't last the entire package. You can substitute disposable eye make-up brush from your better half's cosmetic inventory or hit up one of the make-up counter.
I have some of the pens too but I find them a little too heavy and tough to apply.
Hi Rayzzer I paid £12 for Patton and the American GI and I paid £20 for all 3 Germans as a job lot.
I'm looking forward to using the kits to really bring to life my tanks and give them the finish they need.
Will post more pics when I've done my first attempt.

hi merlin, the weathering sticks are easy to use i have the snow effect on my tracks on the panzer4 and a light touch of snow on all the flat surfaces on the tank the mud one is good for wheels just add a bit on each wheel in different locations but they dont last long as when you start to use them you always find another bit to do so happy weathering
