So would this type, this "Pig Snout" refers to the early casting? The general design was called that, most of the assault guns had them as well. I don't know the exact introduction date but the Tiger 2's at the Battle of the Bulge that 506 abt used were a mixture of older and newer vehicles. Tiger 2 wasn't as linear as tiger 1 due to supply problems so you see some with configurations which don't match the ordered standards. Hermans 510abt Tiger 2 is a good example of that. It's built with the wrong number of track link hooks for instance (the subject tank).
