New Panther Project
So I just scored a almost complete Tamiya Panther kit off Ebay. It is missing a few things namely the electronics and gears in the TUS units. I already have a complete and finished Tammy Panther G, so I am looking for ideas on what to do with this. The only reason I bought it was the price, I just couldn't turn it down. So what do you guys think? I thought of getting one of those sweet Asiatam turrets, or converting it to a Jagdpanther but that is as far as my mind has strayed on the subject...
Re: New Panther Project
How about turning it into a bergepanther not sure many were done on g chassis , or the bergepanther with the panzer iv turret used on the easten front, (not sure this was based on panther g though ) or one of the all steel wheeled panthers or even one of the many paper panzers?
Re: New Panther Project
How about an early G with zimmerit? You would need to change the exhaust to an earlier type though to be historically accurate as no Panther G with zim ever had the flame dampener exhaust. (as is fitted on the Tamiya)

This would take a lot of work. It was on an "D" chassis not a G unfortunately. I would say if you scored a good price on it how about making an F with the Schmalturm narrow turret. You can buy the turret kit from Germany...Dietrich wrote:AS for the Panther hull with the Panzer IV turret, its a very interesting idea for a build ...like this one...its only a drawing .

I am leaning in this direction, but the Jadgpanther idea intrigues me...dgsselkirk wrote:This would take a lot of work. It was on an "D" chassis not a G unfortunately. Re: New Panther Project
Thanks to Tom, I will have some more parts for this tank. I have decided to go the F route. That turret will look sweet and it gives me something different for the shelf to display next to my G.
