Re: Taigen T34 Engine problem
I might see if I can use my iphone to make a sound clip to upload on here so that you can hear it for yourselves. Last night I found a youtube clip of a King Tiger that sounded exactly like mine and that is why I decided it's probably ok.

Heng Long Challenger II (European camo')

That's terrible though...not sure I could live with my tank going to a hiss when the volume is upped...Maybe you should invest in the Heng Long 2.4 they are cheap..and the new gen would let you adjust the sound from the controller.. believe me...not sure what HL did...but when you crank it up..it's loudSteelhammer wrote:I might see if I can use my iphone to make a sound clip to upload on here so that you can hear it for yourselves. Actually scrub that! I can't be bothered. I have messaged the retailer again this afternoon and asked for a replacement main board to put my mind at rest.
I added that I wont be able to make my 2nd order until this is resolved. She has been more than reasonable so far so I have no doubt that she will oblige me and send me a replacement part. Hope it makes a difference but if it doesn't.............I shall say that ALPHA made me do it!

Tunable sound is cool...I've heard some on YouTube...and John F told me about and showed some of his tanks...but I have over 16 tanks now...so I don't think I'll be playing around with modding them anytime soon... the most I'm going to probably do is install the New 2.4 HL RX in them ...even though the sound is the standard rumbling...I have a hunch they added some kind of amp in it...because when it's on high volume...it's louder than the manual...what I might think of doing on some of the tanks is install the new Mato speaker system...it's a dual ...so stereo soundSteelhammer wrote:If I make a sound clip can I e mail it to you for your opinion Alpha - I'm starting to not trust my own judgement on this now!

Re: Taigen T34 Engine problem
It doesn't matter now but what I actually meant was that it would have helped to get someone else to listen to the running sound of my tank as it is now to say whether it is right or not but in the end I've asked her to send another board so that I can swap it and see for myself. Hopefully it wont be too fiddly. Most of my work has been on mutil cylinder motorbike engine's so this is a little smaller.

Thanks. I've had confirmation that it's on it's way now - hopefully I'll have a chance to swap it and try it before I go on holiday in a few days.

Re: Taigen T34 Engine problem
I bought a second hand Torro 2.4ghz tx,rx & speaker off ebay before christmas & it does exactly the same,no engine noise above crawling speed,is it the way they are made or a fault with some receivers.Must admit the controls are much better than HL's,nice & smooth between movements.
