Good point I hadn't considered that. They should pay the shipping both ways seeing how the tank was damaged when you received it. Just tell them you have no idea how to repair the tank and you want a new one.Steelhammer wrote:I really don't want to work on it - what if I do and then it all stops working - how will they not say it's something that I've done ? Rather not go there. I don't suppose they will want to pay for the postage both ways but they should thrash that out with their supplier really.

Yup ...I agree ... it's new...hopefully they will pick up the return shipping tooSteelhammer wrote:Hopefully they wont argue with me because if they do I will go at it through the credit card. I've already got one tank in bits - last thing I need is to be working on another one as a favour to a vendor that I don't know!

Re: Taigen T34 Engine problem
Steelhammer, I've got a call into Erik at IMEX. I've also left a post on another tank forum that he participates on. Hopefully we will get a response soon. I know Mondays are tough for him. I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I hope we get an answer for you today.

Re: Taigen T34 Engine problem
Right then - I've just run it with the upper hull off and there IS sound coming from the speaker when the tank is underway. The sound however, is like a white noise type affair. The idle noise is clear and distinctive and quite low in tone compared to the noise it makes when it's on the move - does that sound right ?

Even the turret traverse sounds much clearer and lower in tone than the engine sound - surely can't be right ?Steelhammer wrote:Right then - I've just run it with the upper hull off and there IS sound coming from the speaker when the tank is underway. Re: Taigen T34 Engine problem
Yes, that sounds right to me as I explained in the PM. All five of my Taigen Tanks are not as audible when on the move vrs at idle. My Heng Long Sherman's irritating noise is more evident when on the move as compared to the Taigen.Steelhammer wrote:Right then - I've just run it with the upper hull off and there IS sound coming from the speaker when the tank is underway. Something else to check. Are the noise suppressors on the motors good and tight?

I can guarantee that is either a Clark board or Benedini. That is not stock Taigen sound, I wish it was however.Steelhammer wrote:This is what it SHOULD sound like : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZol79hRj9w
