HL Houston Kid M4 help - Decals

Post by MartinL »

Evening Guys,
I've posted this request in the wanted section also but thought I would try my luck here if that is ok. Basically I am trying to do my HL Sherman as the Houston Kid II but have been unable to get hold of the HL decal sheet with the markings - wondered if anyone here had a set they were willing to part with?
Looking on YouTube (Mikes Reviews) this appears to be in the premium boxing, there is also a vid with a Tamiya vs Heng Long where the HL tank is in the markings I am looking for. Anyhow, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best wishes,
Martin

Good Evening Martin,
You should try Peddinghaus or Archer Decals. I believe that they can make up sets of decals for may different vehicles not just the ones shown on their websites. This is the tank you are looking for but this only came in 1/24 scale from VS Tanks. The markings are hand painted via stencil I believe. If you have access to a scanner and can find some printer decal paper, you can do dry slide decals or make your own stencils.
regards,
Painless

Martin hallo, I model 1/16 armour and build and fly 1/10 historic aircraft, I have to get my aircraft decals individually made and I use
http://www.pyramidmodels.com
I do not know if they will do 1/16 armour as both Archer and Peddinghaus have always covered my needs but Pyramid are a British company and my experience has always been positive, it is worth visiting their website. Good luck. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Herman,
*chuckles* It is a trick of perspective. The rubber dino is off and to the left. ;o) Martin, sounds like you are good to go for locating those decals now. Three good options to check out. Pictures when they are applied, please.

Painless

Yeah, like duh! Everyone knows the Dinos sides with ze Germans during the Second Great War. No way would you see one gunning on an allied Sherman.

Sorry for the late reply guys - 2 kids under the age of 3 makes for little hobby time at the moment!! Will look into suggestions and thank you for taking the time to post - much appreciated.

Well spotted with the Dino on .50 - that one definitely raised a smile!

All the best,
Martin
