Tamiya KT tracks

Post by Awins »

Im now at the stage of fitting the tracks. Instruction booklet says to remove 4 links and keep these as spares. One side is so tight a link broke on fitting but once fitted using a spare it seems ok. The other side is no where as near as tight in fact it sags in the middle on the top section. The standard Tamiya track tensioners seem ok but I have the feeling some thing is a miss. Any suggestions guys. Has anyone else had this experiance with a Tamiya.
I am not retreating, but simply advancing in another direction!!!

I would fit them per side individually. loosen the track tensioner and fit a full length track and then tighten the tensioner up and see what slack is left. Remove a track link if it's really slack. Rinse and repeat until you have the length right.

Remember the drum in the tensioner has a spring in it, so when tightening you need to bare that in mind.
