Renault FT

Post by Rocketman »

Hi Guys

Update on the Renault FT. Last few bits and bobs going on now then just have to order the control board from 35.com. The Rx 18 wont fit in, its just too small a chassis so hopefully the solution the guys have will work, it should do from what I've seen. Great little kit, cleanly molded but horrible plastic which doesn't cut cleanly so lots of clean up and filling required. Running gear is great but I'm not enjoying the four sprues of tracks I'm having to make, four parts per link, each part needs cleaning up and gluing I am going slightly stir crazy!
The spring on the return rollers is my invention, it replaces a clumsy molded plastic spring and should add some tension to the track run but does make the upper suspension actually work. The front and back hatches will be held on by magnets to allow access to the battery and switches. I am hoping Ill have enough room to fit a separately switched smoker on the other side as well.
