i need your help model shops where i am have no gunmetal paint in stock would mixing black & silver make this color or black & grey

Both will do it but the silver & grey option will make a lighter colour, more like aluminum, it would depend on how dark the grey is. I'd go for the black and gradually add the silver to it until you reach the colour you want.

BTW, the best gunmetal i've used straight out of the pot is the Games Workshop acrylic paints.

I'd go for matt black. Gloss can look too shiney on scale models, makes them look toy like.

If you want a parkerized look, paint it gray then wash it with black.

hi raven, you can always get the gun metal paint, or any other paint from ebay if youre not in to much of a hurry, its usually a bit cheaper than in youre local model shop

sometimes it takes 2 weeks to get stuff off ebay ill try mixing and see what it turns out like its just to paint a couple of machine guns

Dealt with this guy a few times,lists gunmetal in the modelair paints, quick with the postage and a bit cheaper tha his ebay shop,

If you already have matt black and aluminium/silver paint then you can mix your own gunmetal as crispy has already said.
To add a little more realism, wait until it has dried then scribble on some sand paper with a pencil. This will leave a little
pile of graphite dust on the sandpaper. Dip your finger or a cotton wool bud into the graphite and rub it onto the area
you have painted with gunmetal.
