I received a brand new Taigen T34 from Artistic Hobbies. Out of the box there were scratches on the main gun. I overlooked this thinking the quality of the tank was outstanding. I also ordered a Sherman M4A3 for my son at the same time from Artistic Hobbies. These were both the infrared versions but oddly enough the Sherman came with a box of BB's in place of the Infrared Unit. I contacted Gene and he was able to contact Imex and have one shipped out right away. Great customer service. Got the IR unit and we started our first battle today, I fired a couple times and I noticed I was receiving hits from my sons tank but not giving any from mine. He kept shooting and my tanked disabled. After that, I was no longer able to fire the gun. I tried everything to reset the tank and still nothing. Very frustrating to spend over 1k and be a week out after Christmas and still not be able to battle with the tanks. I will let everyone know how Imex and Artistic Hobbies decides to handle it. I don't think I want a refurbished tank or for a tech to work on it. An exchange woul probably be best at this point.

Sorry to hear about your problems 799rich, I've been there. I purchased a Sherman from Gene also. It worked fine for about two days and then wouldn't start. Contacted Gene and Erik from IMEX and had a new RX-18 in a few days. The Sherman has been fine ever since. For your future reference if you buy from Gene again, call him prior to your purchase and ask him to run the tank, fire the gun, and give it a good shake down. He is happy to do it. And in case you are wondering, yes, he did run the Sherman for a day and it still had a problem a couple of days after I had it.

As far as the scratches on the barrel of the T-34. I believe it is due to the way they package the tank. Mine came with the barrel resting on the top of the transmitter. As it moves around during it's travels to it's designation, I think it gets scratched. I also slightly relieved the area of the mantlet that the barrel passes through during recoil. I then repainted it and haven't seen any more scratches.
