Tiger Oddity?

Post by SovereignZuul »

What the heck are these? Never seen them on any model Tiger kits or anything.

Circled in red.

Not seem them either anywhere either! Here's another oddity though that no one seems to mention- some tigers have cut outs in the front tow mounts, some early have it, some mid some late, anyone know why? And there always not cut out in any model I have seen
Sponghoobtank82-panzerIII, panther V, tiger VI early and late and another early tiger, leopard 2a6, panzer IV F2,challenger 2

Loops for tying tarpaulins to.
They were not present on the first 10 Tigers. They were installed on the Tigers sent to Africa and all subsequent Tigers. There were originally 6 of them on the hull sides, but 2 were dropped when the S-mines came in.
They are represented on all 1/35 kits by Dragon where appropriate.

I'm not sure what you mean. I know of something that you might call a cut-out, but it wouldn't be on an Early.
Can you find a photo anywhere?

Would that be appropriate to add to my early-mid Eastern front Tiger David? If yes, 2 or 6 per side? Any bonus shots would be good too. :)

Helpful as ever, thanks David!

Yes, as I said, all Tigers except the ones without side fenders, had these loops.
In your case, two per side.

They come as part of both Aber and Voyager 1:16 PE kits. Pretty easy to make out of some old brass and wire.
