ZTZ-99A Digital Scheme

Post by johndaniel4863 »

My first attempt at digital camo, just needs weathering with a wash to show the panel lines and some paint chip effects to finish it off........

Looking good for a first attempt john, the numbers though seem to be off.

Don't the Chinese utilise bigger numbers and space them out?

I may be wrong.

Good Evening,
The 3899 is the HL model number. All of their tanks come with a set. I used to use them as is because even tho' a lot of us now look at HL tanks as 'starters', too much work to mess with, etc., _before_ there was only Tamiya. HL may have used dubious methods to get started but they opened the door to guys like me being able to even enjoy RC tanking at all. Tamiya has advanced, HL has advanced and other manufacturers are out there now. Honestly probably because the market grew with the availability of tanks that the average Joe could afford. Pardon the ramble, your camo is amazing!
regards,
Painless

Greetings Merlin....this is the photo John provided from his build thread...and yup...there are a few things john could have done to make it more accurate...some things he can still add...like color to the wheels wider white walls ;)
But heck...it's one fine job overall...I can't even fathom painting those white walls 8O

A difficult scheme to pull off but you've done it. Well done indeed.
